The infamous Bro Code. I was really excited when I was able to check it out of the library and read it - pretty much on the spot. It's a fast, funny read and pretty much a must for anybody that likes Barney Stinson. Some of the rules included were quite hysterical, others so dumb that I shook my head a few times, wondering if men actually do such things. All in all, I enjoyed myself.
It's really important to remember while reading this: it's a tie-in to a TV show, thus should not be taken seriously. Yes, this book is offensive and yes, it's crude, but if you take it lightly, it'll be a lot of fun.

I and my mates, now live my this. The equivalent of the bible? I think so
A must-read for any Bro. Hands-down the most important book of the century.

Okay, so I’m going to put it out there: I really like How I Met Your Mother. In fact, before I got into it I was the ‘honorary guy’ in our group and was subjected to my now boyfriend and the rest of the group referring to the Bro Code, and they let me into a secret. Really, they told me it was a book on a TV show, but as they were… ‘bros’ …they thought it was good to call up some rules when required.
This phase has passed, thankfully.
But now I’m fully addicted to HIMYM and couldn’t help but put this on my Kindle when I saw it. It’s pretty funny. I liked the fact it includes every Bro Code clause mentioned in the show – No sex with your bro’s ex, Bros before hos, the really complicated one regarding sex with mothers, step mothers and leopard print clothing. I also liked the examples given throughout, like appropriate uses of Bro in names, like Nabrolean, to the diagrams of appropriate high fives.
Let’s face it, this isn’t exactly a best selling author but I’d say for fans of HIMYM it’s quirky and funny. Never going to read it again, admittedly I also started skimming some of the longer rules towards the end, but it made me giggle quite a few times, so you can't ask more than that from a book like this.

Alright, so it's pretty funny. It took me about half an hour to read the whole thing (got it as a gift for my brother, was too curious to not read it).
Admittedly, it has almost zero substance. Admittedly, it's sexist as hell, but it's all in good fun, same as in the show.
