All in all, this saga has driven me crazy. However, I find it quite dragging in the first few chapters (honestly, just had the page turner moments right in the middle of the 1st book) And yes, I almost did not finish it.
But, after the dragging chapters, I cannot drop this book and has jumped right into book 2 - 5. So yes, 4 stars!

Luce ve sombras. Y esas sombras mataron a su novio Trevor. Ahora la han metido en un reformatorio. Allí conoce a Daniel.

The first half of the book was extremely captivating the second half not so much. I plan to read the next book in the series to see if it gets better. A decent read so Read it!

This book was a really really slow start but got good at the end. I understand that this is the first of the series and they needed to set up the story line and characters it just seems long winded to me.

It wasn't as bad as I had anticipated, but it really wasn't anywhere close to decent either. All of the supporting characters - and I mean ALL - are the flattest, fakest, most cookie-cutter one-dimensional characters I have EVER read about. Even the main ones are - Cam and Daniel, the two love interests, are your basic good sweet guy and mysterious broody guy. At first I liked Luce, I thought she was going to turn out to be somewhat of a strong protagonist, but boy, was I wrong. From about halfway into the book onwards, everything Luce did revolved around her "love" for the boys and the "dilemma" she faced. One thing I found particularly annoying was the fact that it was emphasized that Luce was a hardworking, diligent, smart girl, and yet because of the damn love triangle she stopped caring whether or not she even made it to class because she was too preoccupied with stalking her star-crossed lovers.
The things about this book that I actually found tolerable were the writing and the setting. Everything about the setting was so original - a reform school built on the marshy remains of a church/cemetery dating back to the Civil War. I thought that Lauren Kate did a really good job with atmosphere in this book. Her writing was also not that shabby, for what this book is. Kate seems to be quite talented at maintaining a careful balance between deep writing and purple prose. I was honestly very impressed by that, seeing that this entire book is a cinematic love triangle.
So yeah, those are my thoughts. I'll probably continue with the series anyway, just because. I would recommend this book to anyone, especially teen readers, who don't care about the caliber of what they're reading and just want something swoon-worthy and entertaining.

I really liked this book. I had first heard of the movie (still haven't seen it) and it seemed interesting. I thought the love story was original (maybe you don't get it in the first book, but it'll get explained later on and it peaked my interest even more). I'd say this series is underrated and maybe misunderstood?

Ok so, I saw the movie and thought " this isn't good, but the book might be better, because books usually are better than movies - specially YA ones - so I'll give it a try ".
I shouldn't have. It seems a good idea... curses and reincarnation and the idea you don't have to follow the exact same fate every time, that you have a choice (that's what I got from the movie, I know it's not what's in the synopsis). Maybe it could have been a good book, with another writer. Maybe.
What I can say is that I couldn’t finish the book because it was so awfully written. At least in the movie there was some consistency! The book is narrated by this girl (Lucinda) and her entire monologue is something in the lines of “yeah, I’m garbage. But everyone likes me. But I’m garbage, and a stalker, and kind of have the fetish of being ill-treated. Also, as a character, I don’t do anything, stuff just happens and thank god there was some tall, strong man there to save me”.
It’s just purely bad. Don’t kid yourselves thinking it can’t be ‘That Bad’. It is.
Personally, I don’t understand how there are more books to this series.

A book that gives a new meaning to the word love. Fallen is fantastic if you like angels, love, and mystery.

I loved this series. The storyline is so good and reminds me of why I really love fantasy writing.
