As the leaves start to turn and the air gets a bit crisper, there's no better time to dive into a cozy, witchy romcom—and this book fits the bill perfectly. An adorable, lighthearted tale, it’s the ideal companion to kick off the spooky season with a blend of magic, romance, and a touch of mystery.

What sets this book apart from others I've read in this witchy romcom realm is that our MFC doesn't actually know that she is a witch. It add a fun spin to the usual narrative.

The story does move a bit slowly, but with the added air of mystery it works well -- just took me a bit of time to get really engaged. One of the strengths of this book is that it doesn’t overwhelm the reader with complicated magical lore. Instead, the author skillfully weaves in the magical elements without lengthy explanations, making it accessible even for those who are new to fantasy or witchy novels. Cozy and enjoyable, it’s an excellent choice for anyone in the mood for a lighthearted fall romance. Whether you’re a seasoned reader of witchy tales or just looking for a charming, magical escape, this book is sure to leave you with a smile on your face.

Hot Hex Boyfriend is a cute and quirky romance with just the right mix of humor and witchy elements.

I thought the cover for this book was really cute and eye-catching and the synopsis captured my interest almost immediately. As someone who LOVES fall, it's never too early to dive into fall reads and this book put me right in the fall state of mind. The romance between Max and Delia doesn't disappoint either. It's sweet with just the right amount of spice.

If I had to make one complaint it would be that the beginning of the story was a bit slower than I would have liked. It took me a bit to get into the story, but despite the struggles I had in the beginning, I could tell this book had great potential and I'm really glad I stuck with it.

If you're looking for a fun and unique take on the supernatural, you won't want to miss this quirky romance featuring an over-the-top family, that can't be missed. Hot Hex Boyfriend is a really cute story and I'm glad to have checked it out.

This was my first book by the author and it was a fun magic/paranormal read. The side characters were entertaining while still helping advance the storyline/plot. I love a good sunshine vs. grumpy dynamic, which we got between Delia (a blue witch without magic) and Max (who comes from an "elite" magic family). I especially appreciated and enjoyed the theme of communal support/power to resolve the conflict facing witches in the shadowlands.
I received a free copy of the audiobook (ALC) and was pleased by the vocal work of narrators Laura Knight Keating and Zion Jang. The southern twag helped ground the book and story TX (admittedly I am not a Southerner and cannot distinguish regional differences, I found the accent a fun addition to the characters).
Thanks to Net Galley and Carly Bloom for the ALC.

Hot Hex Boyfriend is a sweet and cozy rom-com perfect for fall! The story follows Delia and her quirky family who believe they are witches cursed to have no magic. Unbeknownst to them all, they are indeed witches and only have one more week to break the hex before they are without magic forever. Sent to keep an eye on the group and make sure they don't succeed, Max, their temporary neighbor is sure the chaotic family has no way of breaking the curse. However, as he gets close to Delia, and the two spend her birthday together, Max, is in for a rude awakening when the family comes into their powers and are ready to test it out.

This was such a fun and cozy read! The magic and small town made the story so sweet and charming, I loved how the family interacted and felt very close-knit. Max and Delia were so sweet together, the way Max was sure of Delia and her capabilities was just adorable. The man was completely smitten! The wholesome characters and family were completely entertaining, the family antics were so chaotic and fun. While I do think the pacing and logistics could use some work, if you don't go into the story expecting anything serious, I think the plot and romance will shine. I read this in one sitting and I can't wait for more in this crazy and exciting magical world!

Thank you to NetGalley and Forever (Grand Central Publishing) for providing this book, with my honest review below.

Hot Hex Boyfriend was a delightful witchy romance. Delia is the witch in question here and she was a light and entertaining character (I also loved her body positivity, which was not made a focal point of the book but gave her character an underlying self confidence I feel is still rare to see in books). Delia’s family is also great, as they are convinced they are witches despite showing no talent in bewitching anything, but rather than coming off as delusional as a result this becomes a quirk that makes them even more fun. Finally, Max, who is aware he is a witch and living next door to stop Delia from realizing she truly is one, was a standout male main character, serious but with a lot of heart and no chips on his shoulder that could make for an awkward read.

Brought together these characters (and more) hide things from each other, fall in love, and save the witch world. What’s not to love when the story has a great premise and is written so well?

How excited I am to be reading witchy books again!!

First I want to say thank you to NetGalley for approving me to read this book in exchange for an honest review!

This book is fun, witchy, a lil’ spicy and all the dramatics!

4.5 stars! Thank you to NetGalley, Forever, and Grand Central Publishing for this advanced copy! You can pick up Hot Hex Boyfriend now.

I LOVED this adorable, small-town, witchy romance! The magic system was fascinating, the characters absolutely delightful, and the romance wonderfully tense. I literally finished this in one sitting because I wanted to stay wrapped up in the cozy feelings it embodied!

Delia and Max's forced proximity, enemies to friends to lovers romance was super cute, but I honestly loved the emphasis on familial love and relationships even more. Delia's aunts were so much fun, and you could tell they'd do anything and everything for Delia. We also saw so much growth from the Halifaxes, who opened up more emotionally and bonded more as a family throughout the book.

This is going to become my go-to rec for cozy, spooky reads this fall, and I can't wait for everyone to read it!
