Amazing story, both plot wise and romantically. The pacing in the middle of the book was strange but I think the ending made up for it!

Good but dear lord, this book is way too long. So much wasn't needed. Maybe if it was 2 books? Love the romance, but I don't know if it worth ot for how long this book is.

I really loved this couple, and I loved a large portion of this story, but man I just could not bring myself to care about Miranda’s story, which was a much larger part of this book than I think I would have preferred. I think I would have liked more of just Viola and Gracewood, even just doing simple things like maybe dating? Domestic stuff? I wanted more time with them and Miranda’s stuff kept getting in the way and it messed up the pacing massively by the midway point of the book.

I do still love it and I love that we had explicit sex and desire with a trans character in which her partner in no capacity questioned his desire and love for her. And a HEA for a trans character as well, in a historical setting. Loved it.

Oh my goodness! I absolutely loved this book. What a joy to listen to. The romance was so sweet, sweet and more sweet. I would recommend this book. I haven’t read a story like this before and I am so pleased that I chose to!

It made me smile, coo and chuckle with its humour. It’s a story that I would never have imagined in this time line and it made me incredibly happy to imagine love prevailing like this, in this time.

My low score is more based on my enjoyment than the quality of the book.

For the right reader I think this book would be a delight but I think the genre and simplicity of the story didnt work for me. I need multiple plots points going on at once if there’s so much introspection going on lol

Good queer rep and hope the author produces more along this line as it seems to really resonate with the majority.
