Listened to the audiobook - it was nice and easy to listen to while doing the dishes, but I was never very emotionally invested in it, mostly because I disliked Evelyn (even though I liked the queer themes). My expectations might have been too high - it wasn’t a great book but it will certainly make a good movie / tv show (I’ll make sure to watch).

oh mein gott. ich weiß um ehrlich zu sein nicht was ich sagen soll. der plot, die charaktere, der schreibstil… ich liebe es. das war mein zweites buch von TJR, und definitiv nicht das letzte. ich empfehle dieses buch von ganzem herzen!!

Evelyn Hugo is, fundamentally, a morally questionable person, and that’s okay. You’re not supposed to like her, yet reading about all the tragedies in her life, it’s hard not to. I put off reading this book for so long because I was concerned it wouldn’t live up to the hype, and it seems I too lost years unnecessarily.
