Mainly short stories about Nigerians who migrated to Belgium. I liked the stories and the writing, and I also like that certain characters showed up in multiple short stories. Some themes/issues felt repetitive. I'm slowly attacking the physical books in my library. To think that I've had this gem sitting unread for years.

I really enjoyed this collection of stories, they were simple but poignant, each in its own way. I actually wish there were more stories. My favorite was Cleared for Takeoff and I especially enjoyed the way the characters in different stories were connected.

The short stories tell a colorful story of people struggling and living in a new culture. Being an immigrant in the Netherlands myself, a lot of them are relatable and funny, but also sad and heartbreaking. Every story worked individually, but it was also nice to follow the same people through the book. Great read, would recommend.
