Username: Evie was a good book with a really good message behind it. It told people that everyone is loved no matter who you are. Amazing artwork!

The down side is that I found that this book was very fast paced and at some points during the book, I had no idea what was going on.

Definitely recommend to someone who wants a short story.

Well, that was totally cheesey! I was going to review this on my blog but I don't think I'll bother now.

I gave this two stars because I liked the illustrations and some of the story but parts were too cheesey for me and I just can't. Glad I didn't buy it.

I love them all. Such a good story! There are life lessons, sacrifice, adventure and action. Its the 2nd graphic novel series I've read and I love it so much. If you haven't read this series yet you should read it.

DID NOT FINISH

It's moments like this I really REALLY want to be able to give 1.5 stars. 1 for effort and .5 because I've seen worse! WHAT DID I JUST READ?! Why did I read it? I feel I deserve 5 stars just for finishing it...

Meh plot. Too fast pace and therefore it is difficult to identify/connect with the characters.

Actual rating-3.5

Wow. Really just amazingly awful.

It was alright.

I felt like the story was poorly developed and wasn't very well planned out, compared with other graphic novels i've read this books didn't really have a chance!
i didn't attach to the characters at all. And i felt that inspirational stuff i.e. be yourself yada yada was just thrown in there to make the book seem more emotional.

This book has only gotten three stars because the artwork was pretty cool and one or two lines did make me chuckle (only a smidge)

This is a really interesting graphic novel that follows Evie, an outcast at her school who lives with her dying coding-obsessed father. When her father dies, he leaves Evie a portal into the world of E.Scape- a place where she is supposed to be able to find peace and respite. Evie's arch enemy (and cousin), Mallory winds up in E.Scape too and wreaks havoc. The book follows Evie's quest to right Mallory's wrongs and hopefully befriend her cousin in the process. Creative plot and really great illustrations.

I was a bit disappointed by this graphic novel. I had heard so many great things, and as beautiful as the artwork was, the story was just pretty boring. I think the story was quite rushed and could have done with being a bit longer and a bit more filled out. That being said I did like the meaning behind the story, and the main character Evie is relatable in many ways. The story is a very new and interesting which is refreshing even if the characters are quite predictable. The pace wasn't really there either and the dialogue was rigid and didn't flow well. Though the artwork was just absolutely stunning and did make up for some of narrative. Left on a bit of a cliffhanger so would happily read the second one. Overall the story was good, just not executed very well.
