This was my first time reading any Aquaman comic books, it was good and I enjoy the conflict that Aquaman had to face between his family and co-workers (Justice League).

First thing's first: despite Jason Momoa's Aquaman being on the cover, War for the Throne is NOT the comic version of the movie, it is a completely different story. That being said, the story is great (I quite liked the relationship between the brothers, that Orm is a very sympathetic not-quite villian, and the plot twist regarding Vulko), although the juxtaposition between the cover art and the story is likely to confuse new readers drawn to DC by the new Aquaman movie, which is somewhat disappointing. However, War for the Throne is a great story and a great introduction to the New 52's take on Aquaman! I'm happy to have read it and am likely to read the rest of the series.

The Aquaman revival continues under the words of Geoff Johns and Ivan Reis. The Throne of Atlantis screams Hollywood blockbuster with a story taking over three different cities, two time periods and classic DC characters. That alone proves that this story is worth reading. Whilst the art is typical comic book art, it works here especially the scene where the ocean suddenly goes up and hurls towards Metropolis.

Overall its a fantastic story. If you don't think Aquaman is cool then read this and it may change your mind.

Guh. I actually flipped through the last couple of issues, hoping to gleam some fantastic insights and/or crucial moments so I could feel like I started this whole series for a reason.
Didn't happen. I want to say I'll read the last volume because I don't like to leave things unfinished and I have it sitting right here at my desk. But damn, this was uninteresting.
Still, I am a glutton for punishment. Punish me, Aquaman!

I don't mind an epic story and battles, but sometimes I wish our heroes would learn to use their words and actually listen to one another. Still, I do like seeing Aquaman struggle with responsibilities to both worlds. That tear is one of the many things I find interesting about him.

Really loved getting Arthur’s backstory and PoV, though it was whack that he was confiding in Bruce about not fitting in either worlds with Clark being right there. Then I remembered Clark is ooc since he’s dating Diana in this run, so that was never going to help anyway.
