Anne of the Island

Honestly, my least favorite so far in the series. If I wasn’t listening to it on audiobook I could see myself just putting it down and forgetting to pick it back up. I thought Anne became quite unlikable, and almost like a lot of the things she said just didn’t make sense for her character? I started to like Phil more than Anne, and I thought the romance between Anne and Gilbert at the end was a tad rushed. I still adored the writing style, and I loved the new characters and the development and how everyone is grown and I wanted to cry happy tears when it was announced Diana had a baby boy :,)

I am by now utterly convinced that I was meant to be Anne in another life and live in Avonlea.

Stunningly written, the third book in the series is as lovely as the first two, as it tells us about Anne’s university life and love life. I really enjoyed this one, maybe more than “Anne of Avonlea”.
This book really illustrates so bittersweetly and beautifully both the niceties and the sorrows of growing up, and Anne will always remain a kindred spirit to me.
I initially disliked Phil, but she grew on me as the book went on and by the end I felt equally interested
in all the character’s stories.
I’m very glad that Davy and the Avonlea gossip take a major back step (it’s not that I hate them, but they refocused me from the main plot) and we get to see more of Anne, Gilbert and her college buddies.
Speaking of Gilbert… Did I forget to mention this book also has a beautiful love story?❤️
All in all, I loved this book and I’m really excited to see where these characters will go next.

I absolutely loved the school setting and the over all feeling in this book. Anne is growing up fast, but she still has a lot of imagination. I’ll forever love her view on life, although I must say everything goes quite easy for her.

Definitely my favorite of all the Anne Books

I changed this to five stars because I think this may be one of (or THE) favorite Anne book I've read. It has everything: funny stories, heartbreaking scenes, plenty of imagination, and so much romance. I flew through it yet again and loved every minute.

Had not quite the same vibe as the first two ones, which made me think I didn't like it that much in the beginning. But after a while - as Anne goes to uni, new friendships and problems develop - it became as wonderful as ever, just more "academia" focussed than cottage core.
