The second book somehow makes you invested in the story and Cardan and Jude. The tension between them really is a slow burn that still has not come to an end. 

Did not see the plot twist at the end coming, as it came right as my hopes were at their highest.

The writing still does not completely do it for me but I am now too invested in the story to not read the final book.

The ending for the second one had me STUNNED
INTO SILENCE.
I was shocked and it was crazy
And the second one wanted me to give Jude a hug and everything kinda went whack!!!

I guess I never wrote a review for the first time I read this, but I love this whole series. I love Jude and Cardan, separately and together. I also love the complexity of the court intrigue. And the cliffhanger was good. Looking forward to the reread of the final book.

i loved it but i am disappointed at the epilogue a bit i wanted a bit of cardan in it with her.

It's embarrassing how much I love this book.

Holly Black does a fantastic job of making an immersive, dangerous and engaging world without bogging you down with too much detail about how Faerie works. As a result, the plot moves along at a brisk, exciting pace and I found myself completely invested in all of Jude's schemes. The court intrigue, the gorgeous descriptions of the Folk, Cardan (!), the romance (!!) and that ending (!!!!!) were enough to make me toss and turn the night I finished it. Now I just have to bide my time until the next one comes out... in a year...
