It felt like several short stories and I kept waiting for something exciting or inspirational. I was surprised at a full 20% describing her terrible childhood instead of diving into who she became and what she overcame.

This book has been one of my favrioutes this year I have loved reading all the twists and turns. The characters (most) were so interesting it made you want to read more. Beautifully written!

Right from the start, the main character of this book, Queenie, held my attention and won my affection. My heart felt full whilst reading the whole story - the adventures, the challenges, the extreme highs and lows of Queenie’s life. Based on the true story of one girl’s experiences of being broken, abandoned, bought and sold, this book will have you glued to the spot in the best possible way.
