I thoroughly enjoyed how gripping this was, but I did feel wanting more for the ending.

Women reeling from severe loss and trauma take us along for the ride on their hunt for vengeance. The story is based on this premise: two women, connected only by their shared suffering and constant grief, agree to swap murders— but their plans go haywire. Multiple engaging POVs, some clichès and predictability, moderate suspense, and many plot twists. Author Steve Cavanagh knows how to write suspense and mystery, but his skills are less aptly applied in matters of artful detail, emotion, sensitivity, and tact.

I haven't read Strangers on a Train (but I will) or seen the movie, but knowing the concept is enough to enjoy this author's homage. It was fun to watch the different storylines come together. I love it when I don't guess the twist.

I stayed up until 3:30am finishing this book because I. Could. Not. Put. It. Down. And how could I go to sleep right away after finishing it? No, I was up another hour just processing the masterpiece I just read. So fair warning to not read this book late at night!

Still fairly new to thrillers but so far this one is my FAVORITE. My first BOTM book. If they're all this good then damn I'm gonna keep doing BOTM.

Will have to checkout other books by this author as his writing style is superb! Characters are complex and intriguing, plot keeps you on your toes, and the twists and turns will have you speed reading to find out what happens next!

This one blew my mind and I'm definitely going to be rereading it in the future and recommending it to friends.

I could not put this one down!! I read the majority of it in one day. It had me hooked from the get-go and I felt so invested in the characters, really feeling for their respective past traumas. It was fast-paced with short chapters written from the point of view of several characters. I kept trying to figure out what the connection was between Ruth and Amanda. A couple of times I thought I knew, but didn't quite. There were twists and turns right up to the last page. I often read mysteries where the author leaves you wondering at the end, but the loose ends were all tied up and I found that really satisfying for a change.

Started the year off with two bangers of thriller novels. I always love Cavanagh novels and this one had really good twists.

My only complaints:
the final twist was a twist too much for me, re: Mr Blue Eye’s identity. Secondly, I really wish for no more books featuring the Crazy Infertile Woman. First of all, how come it’s never an infertile man? But more importantly, Why does infertility seem to be so linked to being a batshit crazy murderer in books? Let's keep infertility out of my thrillers - I have enough of it IRL!</spoiler
