I’ve never read any of Oscar Wilde’s books, nor have I researched into him as a person, so this book was I guess my ‘first impression’ of the guy. And my he is funny!

Reading this feels like reading his journal. They kind of remind me of like shower thoughts. Like these are just thoughts that popped in his head while he was doing whatever. It’s like a balance of some very reflective thoughts, and some are more tongue-in-cheek. He pokes fun at English society in some passages. And I’m surprised that some of the passages are more progressive—eg: the quote about how garments aren’t confined by sexes.

Not to self: For fav quotes see tabs lol there’s quite a few and I ceebs typing them all here

I’ve never been more convinced that a man was out of his time. He would have loved the modern world, I’m certain of it.
(And I would have been hopelessly in love with him)
