While this book is a “thrill ride”, it is not cohesive and is NOT about Nola, who remains an undeveloped character as do the majority of players. The book has red herrings and unexplained actions (who did Master Gunn text on the phone his wife does not know about?) which do not add to the conclusion. Foreshadowing comments abound directed at the reader and also not adding to the conclusion.

Liked the characters, liked the escape stuff. Still how much punishment can a body (or two or more) take and still remain standing?

Very wordy. The author takes 40 words to write what should have taken 10. A very promising start but after reading on, I found that the going was very slow. This is because the author takes a long time to move the action along. There is a lot of writing, a lot of words to describe a little. I found myself skipping faster and faster to get to the point and sometimes there wasn't one. I think the writing lacks focus because of this. On top of that, I thought the characters were flat. I just didn't enjoy it.

I got this as a free ARC.

Great characters. Tons of action. An unlikely alliance. A couple surprises. Good guys and bad guys. Everything I want in this kind of book. My first of this author and officially a fan.
