it wasn't predictable per se, but I had an inclination of the direction it was going to take; even so, the last 10% hooked me.
This was entertaining enough - none of the twists totally blew me away, but still satisfying. The book felt both familiar and original.

This was an okay read for me. The setup had strong potential, and I enjoyed the atmospheric vibes and tension, but the execution didn’t completely land. Some twists worked, others felt predictable, and overall it was a solid but not mind-blowing thriller.
No spoilers. Read the physical copy.
I have never DNF'ed a book, I just push through it to make sure I truly am not missing something and it will be good in the end. However, this book did not give me that. It was not a very thrilling book to read, the twists were good, but the whole storyline and overall felt overly dragged out. It did have some parts that got my attention, but then it just dragged on about it. I get how the story was written that this was normal, but this was not what I expected it to be (I did go in blind), from Alex Michaelides. I absolutely loved the Silent Patient and the Maidens, but this is one of his I would not re-read or recommend to everyone.
Would I recommend this? Maybe, to someone who wants a slow thriller that is not very thrilling aside from a couple of twists.

This book left me with mixed feelings. While it revolves around a murder, the story felt fragmented with its multiple perspectives.
