This was so cute and sweet.
First off I'm glad the romance was suspenseful. It wasn't immediately after they got left in the woods, it was drawn out a bit which helped keep the story interesting.
Characters were great. I hated Regan from the start. Also, WHY WOULD YOU LEAVE SOMEONE IN THE WODDS BY THEMSELVES?! I know Lennon was an expert in camping and the wilderness, but they had no reception to call for help. They could have gotten hurt, lost, or even worse died. She could have killed them by leaving the two of them out there like that.
One thing I want to add is the canopy scene. When Lennon brought out the box of condoms I could not stop laughing. He literally came prepared for THAT. He was so casually cool about it.
Overall cute story, recommend it to anyone considering reading it.

This is my second Bennet's book, I didn't quite love it like the first one, "Alex approximately", but it was good.
Zorie and Lennon were adorable, Joy was nice and Mac and Sunny were super cool.
Zorie's dad though, that was the actual definition of scumbag, what a dick! Really put me off with his attitude and filthy self.
OK, the story is simple, predictable, humorous, romantic, sweet...what's not to like, Zorie's dad, that is!

This really was how a YA book should be. I am impressed.
Zori loves astronomy. I liked that. She was normal you know. She has parents that are around in the book, a lot even, I know right. Though her taste in boys and friends, ehh, could be better.
Lennon, whose name I kept hearing as Lenin and I went all what the?! A reptile loving manga reading neighbor. And Zori's former best friend.
Reagan (did not like her), Summer ditsy, Brett (get better taste in boys Zori!).
They are all together on a glamping trip and then on a real camping trip. And Lennon made it sound so wonderful! I would love to go hiking there. Or maybe not when I think of bears, snakes and cougars. I also loved how the book took place in a national park. It was different and great.
Also, they actually talk things out before the end! Yes! I hate when things gets dragged out and I just want to shout talk! And they talk. Why their friendship went wrong, among other things.
I really can not do it justice. This was a great book. I truly enjoyed it.

Oh she is one of my favorite narrators! I love her YA voices. I'd choose a book just cos of her.

Zorie has an enemy in the form of her next door neighbor ex-boyfriend, Lennon. In fact their families hate one another, but when Zorie steps outside her comfort zone to go on a camping trip, Lennon is there as well. When the camping trip goes awry Lennon and Zorie are stuck together in the wilderness and have no one but each other to turn to. Will they be able to get out without killing each or getting killed in the process?
✨
I did not plan on reading this entire YA book in one day, but that’s exactly what happened after I started it yesterday afternoon. I could not put it down. This might be my favorite Jenn Bennett novel yet. I love enemies to lovers troupe and the depth this romance has was also enjoyable. Zorie was extremely relatable to me as someone who is a planner. I highly recommend this story and author!
CW: suicide, mental health awareness, homophobia, adultery, death

Overview:
Best-friends-turned-enemies Zorie and Lennon have been avoiding each other for a year, with their families also not being in great terms. But when a group camping trip turns out for the worst, Zorie and Lennon find themselves stranded in the wilderness. With no one but each other, Zorie and Lennon have no choice but to talk through their issues as they hike their way to safety. As they travel deeper into Northern California’s rugged backcountry, secrets and hidden feelings resurface. Can their rekindled connection survive in the real world? Or was it the result of the fresh forest air and the magic of twinkling stars?
Review:
My oh my. I seriously could not put this book down. I’m not often a big fan of contemporaries usually, but I absolutely fell in love with this one. Although the plot was predictable and didn’t hold much weight, it’s a book that I know I can go back to just for some light reading or romance. I loved the diverse mix of characters, especially Lennon’s mothers, Sunny and Mac.
I felt myself relating a bit too much to Zorie, who is this geeky perfectionists who keeps all of her daily activities logged and loves to keep everything planned. It freaked me out how I related to her so much, but that allowed me to really connect with her and her emotions throughout the book whenever things went awry. She was someone, who due to unexpected life events thrown her way, found this way of helping her dealing with her anxiety and keeping herself calm during situations in which she feels like she needs to plan ahead. But one of the things that I loved the most about this book was how the author kept throwing things at Zorie to help her realize how you can’t be prepared for everything. That’s not how life works, and it’s a reminder that I sometimes have to remember myself. I loved the message, the romance, the characters, just this whole book. It was a very enjoyable read.

First and foremost, I’ll be frank with you all, this is my second time picking this book up because the first time I read it I realized I was not in the mood for contemporary and knowing me, I’d easily get in a slump if I’m not in the mood for a genre/a book so I put it down then. But picking it up again now clearly is the best decision indeed.
I love Zorie and Lennon so much. They have this enemy-to-lovers thingy going on and when they both went camping and got stranded together, the way they sort out their differences and getting together makes me laugh, I got a wee bit emotional when they started opening up to each other. I just love the dynamic of them both together. THE WAY THIS BOOK ENDS TOO WAS SO CUTE OMG JENN BENNETT DEF KNOWS HOW TO MAKE MY HEART FLUTTERS
This story was better than Alex Approximately.
Sure, both characters aren't overly exciting but the story is cute and original with it's outdoor setting.

Zorie is a planner. She likes to know exactly what is going to happen in her life and when it is going to happen. She does not do well then things go off plan. In fact, she has her summer mapped out with 3 specific rules to follow to ensure the best summer ever. All of that gets thrown out of the window when her mother guilt trips her into going on what seems to be a harmless glamping (glamorous camping) trip with some friends from school. Nothing could be farther from the truth, what should have been a fun and relaxing trip gets turned into the biggest misadventure of her young life when her ex-best friend turned enemy, Lennon, ends up on the trip.
This is a cute young adult romance with a setting unlike any I have ever read before. I love that this book is set in the wilderness and involves hiking and camping. Since I love to do both of those things I could really relate with Lennon and his love of the outdoors. While the premise of why they ended up in the woods alone, unsupervised as minors and how there story progressed is a little bit of a stretch I think it was a well done story.
The characters are lovable and you follow Zorie and Lennon as they learn about what tore their friendship apart and you see them as they try to reknit their lives. This book is not all about fluffy romance though, there are some more serious issues brought up in regards to both of their personal lives and surviving in the wilderness. Overall this story was adorable, but what really gave this book that little bit of extra oomph is that as a contemporary novel it has MAPS. I thought that was a wonderful addition and really added to the story, I wish all contemporaries had maps! Definitely recommend this book if you want to read an adorable ya romance set in nature.
