maybe I really am just a hater with too high standards because I kept waiting for it to click and it never did :-/ interesting plot and world, but weak technical writing and half from the perspective of a pretty much insufferable space cop

Enjoyed it enough to keep continuing the series.

Everyone is talking about how good the show is, but I don’t think I need to see any of the effects of the protomolecule depicted on screen. Reading about vomit zombies was rough enough. 

I didn’t love Miller’s obsession with Julie. It fit in with the story really well, but having an older man be so in love with a younger woman he’s never met just never sat quite right with me. 

That being said, this was such a good read! It was deeply unsettling in places, and I had a hard time understanding the politics at times, but the story was fascinating. I’ll definitely be continuing the series.
