Doing a reread of the series after so long, and seeing I have no review for this book pains me so here we go:

From the first time I read this book and each time after it, I loved this book. Luca’s possessiveness, Aria’s innocence, it’s all great and sets up such a fantastic series. Knowing what I know now of the series, this really is the perfect couple to start with, since not only does it tie together everyone else’s story, but it also shows what the “basic” mafia couple is like. Powerful, ruthless and feared man.; innocent and soft spoken woman, forced to marry and make the best of it. Not only did this book set up the series, but it also set up the world of NA mafia. While Cora may have not been the first, she pretty much paved the way for a fantastic genre.

Throw all ur feminism away before getting into reading. From the first book I can see that this series’s gonna be easy to read, extra friendly to people whose first language is not English.

second time read: Still love this big family so much!!! rereading this book took me back to the time when I held my new kindle dearly and couldn't stop myself but stayed up late reading this series.

This was a good book but feels very basic and cliche, I assume this was her first book so she was still teething out the world and her writing style.

Luca feels like a very typical mafia boss and I am very excited to see him as Capo. He has some trauma and lacks the ability to move wholly.

To see Luca grow and learn to love his wife was beautiful after he did the worst thing possible. He seems to learn from his mistake and when Aria went into that house I felt sick to my stomach.

Aria learnt to accept her new life while growing to be a very strong woman and making the best of her new life.

I had huge expectations for this book. I thought it would give as an insight on how mafia lives are. I believed it would tell us about the painful lives children go through with mafia parents. It was no such thing.

It was horrible! This book is only a very, very bad romance. With a few horny teenagers.
What did I just read?! Dnf it. I had unfortunately already read 70%, before I realized there was nothing there for me.
Do NOT read this book.

Update
Loving, scare and shy girl meets future husband bad and ~dangerous~ boy, killer by the age of 11 *the circumstances of the killing tho', they seemed made on spot*. Male fiance is very jealous and intends to kill everyone that even looks at her. Girl doesn't seem to have a problem with that.
Spoiler Few days before the marriage, girl is troubled about the wedding night and future "intimate" moments with future bad and ~dangerous~ husband rather than living a MAFIA controlled life. Even tho' the guy is dangerous and feared by everyone, her ~beauty~ prevents him from harming her. Because why not, seems legit.
This book was extra-bad.
Long story short:
Shy girl meets bad dangerous boy.
They marry.
Faithful, but scared wife denies his attempts at intimacy. *Because she is shy and scared. At 18. After living as a mafia child all her life. Around dangerous and bad people. Yes, right. *
Bad dangerous husband feels entitled to cheat.
Faithful wife is upset, but seems to forget about this after he "explains" how he is entitled to it. He takes shower and they cuddle.
Next 50% of book - adult - but disappointing - content. So bad. UGH.
Then it turns out bad dangerous husband was actually a golden heart man with trust issues.
I quit reading it after that.

I looked at the rating of this book and I can't believe it has actually an average of 4 stars! Oh dear gods, why? It's so... *yes, exactly* BAD.

There is one spoiler do with that what you will

I hate to give it 2 stars because I did have hope but this book really had no plot yes Russians blah blah but they didn’t really do anything and there was nothing to really connect to the characters it was always a lil lil lil but plot and then BOOM smut and then repeat aria did have a lot of potential the way she “commanded” her siblings I thought if she would work on Thant she would make a great Donna there was barely emotional except for the cheating which was pushed back fast I’m aware it had almost 300 pages but it could have been a 400 pages book everyone could have enjoyed these 200 something pages tho were not what it could have been I will try the next book but in hopes it will get better
