It was an interesting story. I find the middle section dragged quite a bit. And as with a lot of thrillers, we found out most of the information right at the end, which made for an interesting ending (especially the epilogue).
But mainly the book needed to speed up, it could’ve been shorter.

One evening the police turn up to talk to Tom about the disappearance of his ex girlfriend, Katie. His wife, Beth, is in shock because Tom is the perfect husband........ or is he?

I loved this book. It has exactly the kind of plot that I enjoy with a few twists. Some I saw coming and others that took me by surprise. I enjoyed the swapping perspectives, the pace and the tone.

I read this in less than a day because I couldn't put it down. Will be keeping my eye open for anything else from Alice Hunter

Mer, had the potential to be interesting if things didn’t just spring out of nowhere with no clear connection or lead up, and if 90% of the bakery and going to work talk was cut

"The storyline unfolds through the lenses of several points of view—the serial killer, his victims, and his wife. Their disturbing thoughts—past and present—create tension that stretches nerves to the snapping point, leaving the reader reflecting on the unexpected outcome long after turning the last page." —Laurie Buchanan, author of the Sean McPherson crime thriller novels

Utterly preposterous but hugely entertaining, full of horrible people doing ridiculous things and acting in ridiculous ways. I gave this 4 stars because a good time was had by all but a more realistic, less cake induced rating would have been 3. There's a sequel which I will probably read if I see it lying around in a charity shop.
