Beth, Tom & young daughter Poppy seem to be a happy family unit. They live in a small close knit village where Beth runs a pottery cafe. One evening the police knock on the door to speak to Tom about a missing girl, his ex girlfriend. Their lives are turned upside down and all is not how it seems. Good thriller - some excellent twists that I didn't guess.

I loved this book is was a nice pace and had twist and turns everyone had secrects and the twist at the end is unexpected. Relationships are at stake and can’t you really trust your friends and do you really no someone?

The book was very slow paced and confusing at times.
Many of the characters were two dimensional and frankly annoying.
There was a great plot line but sadly due to under developed characters and large plot holes the book was unfairly ruined

I so enjoyed reading this suspenseful, twisty psychological thriller. Disturbing, complicated, and unreliable narrators kept me on my toes wondering how much they aren't saying and what secrets are waiting to be revealed. I truly did not see the final twist coming.

Once this book got going, I enjoyed it. It was a bit slow at first but I liked the second half of the book a lot. There were some unexpected twists and turns that kept me wondering. I guessed some of them, but still enjoyed how the end unfolded. At first, I thought some of Beth's dialogue was forced and odd, but eventually I realized that was part of the point.
Overall, I enjoyed reading this one and found it surprising.

As soon as Tom gets home there are police officers waiting to talk to him, questioning him about a death of an old girlfriend, and Beth is left wondering what in the world is happening, her husband is a nice, mellow, wouldn’t hurt a fly kind of guy- they have to have the wrong man, right? When the story starts to unravel Beth and their daughter are at the center of all of this, and people are asking if Beth had anything to do with it, or if she knew, she’s the talk of the town but not in the great way she’s used to.
This book kept me on my TOES the whole entire time I was reading it. The idea of the family who has it all having their reality come crashing down was so intoxicating I had to keep reading to figure out how it ended and if Beth was as innocent as she claimed or not. The twists in this book will keep you guessing until the very last page and you will not regret reading this page turning thriller. There is a reason that this book has been so acclaimed since it was released, and it deserves every award it has been given. If you’re looking for an amazing 5 star read, this is the book for you.
