this is (obviously) a re-read of a book i hold the most dear to my heart- it’s so fun rereading a kids book bc it’s so nostalgic and sweet but there so much i missed as a kid- anyway would recommend rereading your fave childhood book (5 ⭐️ forever and always)

I felt for Wilbert when he had to deal with the mundane day to day life as a pig, which just speaks to how great the writing was. Good children's book for the whimsical side and the introduction of death and grief.

I owned this book as a child, but could not remember if I even read it back then, because I couldn’t remember anything about it! Throughout reading it, I was hit with deja vu numerous times— it was like a blast from the past. Charlotte’s Web is a captivating story that has many themes and important lessons that are relevant to everyday life.

It took me two days to finish it! Taking so long with a children's book is frustrating. It didn't seem like a story from another world, in fact it seemed bland to me. I think it was not the best time to read it and I have not enjoyed this story as it deserved. The truth is that nothing exciting happens. The day to day on the farm. It is a story about peaceful and quiet life, friendship, kindness and companionship. A bit boring and long for an adult. It is the risk that one runs reading children's stories when he is no longer a child.

Neverthless, I have to emphasize that the book shows a beautiful friendship that lasts despite the differences and time. Teach in a tender way the cycle of life and death; it is good that younger children begin to know these concepts in a friendly and easy to understand way.

I liked that he chose a spider as a co-star because they are usually animals that are classified as "bad". The rest of the animals are somewhat unpleasant and Wilbur is too superficial, precisely the only character that you appreciate is Charlotte.

Maybe I'll give the movie a try one day.
