Wilbur is born the smallest of his litter, but just as he is about to be killed by Mr. Arable, Fern saves him. Fern raises Wilbur and eventually sells him to her uncle. At Wilbur's new farm he makes friends...but also learns that he will be killed in the fall for Christmas dinner. That's when he meets Charlotte, a spider, who weaves words into her webs to convince the humans to keep Wilbur alive.
A classic early chapter book that focuses on friendship and the power of words.

This was such a sweet book, I really enjoyed the humour. Can't believe it took me this long to pick it up and read it.
