✨Lotus Review✨
Author: Jennifer Hartmann
Genre: Suspense Romance

I didn’t know I could fall in love with a kidnapped victim… but here we are. Literally idk how she did it, but Jennifer gave me everything I needed in a book. Romance, suspense, Whodunnit, and childhood friends to lovers…. Like what?!?!

This was such an absolutely a beautifully written book! Then LOTUS…. Like that had me bawling. IYKYK. Ugh this is why my reviews are mediocre because I have no words when it comes to amazing books… you just have to read it to understand!

3.5⭐️

First of all thank you NetGalley for the e-copy of this book. I didn’t expect to get this book, but I’m very glad I did because I enjoyed it a lot.

Thoughts:

- I love the author’s writing! Still Beating was a 5 star read for me and this came quite close it as well. There’s just something about the writing that I very much enjoy.
- Speaking of Still Beating, it was nice to meet the characters once again and see how one of them got to continue their life in this book.
- I enjoyed both our main characters and I’m happy for the dual POV. I kinda expected something similar to Still Beating with the chapter distribution between them, but this felt much better!
- However, speaking of main characters, Sydney annoyed me quite a bit for a large part of the book especially with her way of treating Oliver. It was more than obvious how she felt, but she decided to act crappy on purpose pretty much. It got better toward the ending.
- Overall I’m very happy with the way the author deals with heavier topics.
- I very much enjoyed the mystery of what happened to Oliver. It was very intriguing.
- I honestly didn’t see the plot twists coming and it was so good. It kept me wanting to continue reading.
- The meaning behind the name of the book and the word Lotus was everything. Not gonna say more as it’s such a huge thing, but I had to mention I very much liked that.
- I also have a lot of highlights from the book. Many funny scenes and quotes I adored.

Overall I enjoyed the book a lot and it helped me enjoy at least a part of my very long flight for my work trip. I’d definitely recommend this book to people who enjoyed Still Beating or just enjoy this author’s writing. It’s a nice read.
