I loved this book! It had the perfect balance of emotions, overcoming traumatic experiences, romance and plot twists. I felt very connected to the main characters and it hurt to read about the traumatic experiences due to feeling connected to the characters. I think this is definitely my contemporay reading tastes in a nut shell.

Lotus by Jennifer Hartmann ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I absolutely devoured this book. The relationship development between Sydney and Oliver was amazing. I was rooting for them throughout the whole book. I loved the storyline and I felt the trauma felt by both characters was portrayed excellently. Jennifer Hartmann writes difficult subject matter in a sensitive and meaningful way, and this book did not disappoint. I felt for both characters at different times and couldn’t put the book down. 

SPOILERS the plot twist had me gobsmacked. It was done so well, I didn’t predict that part at all but looking back the foreshadowing was there. Highly recommend picking this book up.

The emotions are strong with this one! I fell in love with Oliver as he learned to navigate life after 22 years in captivity. Beautifully written, I had to read this after finishing Still Beating
