I was pleasantly surprised and quite amused at this light hearted, chuckle out loud, cute little book (and it was little, felt short after it ended). Certainly not the type of book I usually read! About a woman in her late thirties, who one night is turned into a vampire, only, and this is the twist, she can’t drink blood, so she whittles away to almost nothing before she figures out the whole “vegan vamp” thing (eh, get it? ;)). You can see clearly how this is turned into a series, and while I would happily read more, I’m not sure I’ll be spending money on these books. I read this first one when it became available, for free, on Amazon. All in all, a delightful way to spend the day.

It was ok, but I kind of expected better. You mention the word Vampire and expect more gore. I took it for fun.

A really enjoyable read, short and good.
I loved how the Mallory handled her new life as a vampire, it would have been less amusing if she was crying all the time and overly useless.
She's a strong character, and I rather liked Alex too.
Wembley is kinda suspect, but he's a hippie vampire so.. 🤷🏼‍♀️
Yay, Magic swords!
Im very curious how the series will evolve.
Will it get better, or worse?

After going out for drinks with the rest of her office, Mallory wakes up in her apartment the next morning with no idea of how she got home, and soon realized that something was very wrong with her. She couldn't seem to get enough to drink, discovered that she'd slept through several days, and that solid food suddenly made her violently ill. Something was very wrong. And she soon learns that something is the fact that she has become a vampire… with an aversion to blood.

This was a fun little cozy mystery. The main character was forced to rapidly learn how to survive as a vampire who must find a way to survive even though she can't seem to drink blood. She also needs to learn everything she needs to know to survive as a vampire quickly, or else starve to death. Add to that a need to find out how she became a vampire in the first place and who was responsible for seemingly trying to kill her and why, and she has quite a task in front of her.

I enjoyed this one. It was lighthearted and fun. I think anyone who enjoys cozy mysteries, lighthearted vampire stories, or is just looking for something fun to read would enjoy this book.
