It was okay. Very genderswapped Sherlock Holmes fanfic-y, but not bad.
Graphic: Homophobia

the characters were great and will’s narration style was entertaining. loved the wlw as well as the dynamic btwn will and pentecost. a bunch of highlight-worthy lines that weren’t too corny/cringey.
that being said, i never found myself super excited about the story and so maybe the wow factor of the reveal(s)/conclusion was lost bc too much time passed while i was reading and i wasn’t invested.
i don’t think this is a spoiler but hiding it in case anyone reads it like one: the title makes absolutely no sense and it irks me lol

This reads like the salty queer New York younger sister to the upstairs/ downstairs British detective series starring Maisie Dobbs. I enjoyed it immensely and have the others on my library holds shelf.
