I like how it was written, the weaving of the story with all the clues, but it was way too long. It needed to be 100 pages less, I was having so much trouble finishing the last quarter.

I found this book incredibly boring, hard to follow, and long. It was full of stereotypes and just not entertaining to me.

I did DNF it with two chapters left though, after trying my hardest to push through

Read for my office’s book club

Super slow start, but by the end I was pretty hooked. This book isn't going to make me a fan of Peter Straub, but I'm glad I read it.

I was super bored at first, but once I realized it was written in 1976 and set in "present day" everything started to make sense.

Poor Ricky.

Edit: rounding up to 4 stars from 3.75 because it's been days since I finished this and I still think about the characters and plot, and I haven't been able to start another book yet.
