I just couldn’t do it. Brooke was so obnoxious!! I know, she finally figured out that she wanted to be with Taushen and he loves her, but damn… I just can’t with wishy, washy, mixed messages & not being honest. He was trying to be respectful of the boundaries she laid down. UPDATE: I finished it. I started the next book in the series and felt like I missed something. I’m still not thrilled with this book. Brooke’s whole character just grates my nerves. Taushen deserves better. Also, as much as I ADORE Hollie Jackson & Mason Lloyd’s narration, they missed the mark with Brooke. She’s supposed to be from New Orleans. They really should have given her at least a hint of a NoLa accent.
