I'd rate this a 4.5 :3
I really liked the ending the most because he finally got what he deserved and Seri got to go free but I hated Jackie so much that i cannot fathom reading through everything he did again.
I also felt like I couldn't grasp onto the ideas of Jackie's internalized homophobia because it wasn't a way to justify what he's done but I don't know why else it was in it. Maybe to explain his infatuation with anal and oral? I'm not quite sure.
Also as a survivor of abuse, I'm glad the scenes where he describes the mindset of being an abuser are usually short lived but I'd rather they not be there at all.

the ending definitely bumped up my rating! but imo, no white man should be writing the N word in their books 🥴 aside from the few times that word was thrown in there, the book was definitely disgustingly great. the writing is really digestible and easy and quick to get through.
