I loved this story. It was amazing and I am so glad to have heard it. It was good to read about wwII from the perspective of Italy and not France for once. But the author was not the best writer and could have used a better editor.

The story itself is amazing. However, the pace of this book was very off. Some parts were drastic and couldn’t put it down, while others I was struggling to get through. It’s almost like there was TOO much detail. Overall a good read and different than other WWII stories.

If you’re a fan of reading WWII era books then I highly recommend this. For me this was one of the best I’ve read in awhile. Full of action from start to end, hard to put down. I enjoyed the characters immensely and at times had a hard time remembering this really happened! Haven’t read about this era from the viewpoint of those in Occupied Italy before. Hard to believe that this story almost slipped away. Thanks to Pino for sharing his dreams...and his nightmares. 5 stars.
