Not very good and the information at the end was far to Pro-America for my tastes.

This is some Henry Blake level of bullshit. ISN'T THERE A RULE ABOUT MIDDLE GRADE NOVELS THAT YOU ALWAYS HAVE A HAPPY ENDING?

This was kind of an intense one to read. I read these books (Dear America and My Name is America) when I was in 4th-7th grade and I don't remember ever having read one that is this intense. I felt like people know about Vietnam, but don't really *know* Vietnam. It's one of those things that gets brushed under the rug and talked in secret. This of course is geared towards children so it doesn't go into any huge detail of what happened over there, but it's enough to where I was sitting here going "Would I let a 10 year old read this?"
