A nice sweet romance to get me into the groove of reading again after a few weeks of not reading at all.

It has been awhile since I read the first two in this series and unfortunately that affected this read. I did not remember all that had happened before and Wiggs kept referring to the past. This would be easier to deal with if I had any memory left. This storyline was good and I am sure that there could be several more Lakeshore books besides the 5 that Wiggs has already written.

I will probably only read them if I run out of other romances. These are good, but nothing special, in my opinion.

It really bothers me that this book is inconsistent with the last one. In The Winter Lodge, Nina finds out that she is pregnant and goes with Jenny, Rourke, and Joey to an abortion clinic. She decides to keep the baby and goes home to face her family with the news. We know that this is during the summer both because it says so and because Rourke and Joey wouldn't be there otherwise. In this book, it is Autumn when Nina's mother reveals that she knows Nina is pregnant and takes her to the doctor. It specifically says that Nina hasn't told anyone. I just don't understand how neither the author nor the editor recognized such a big inconsistency with the plot.

I don't know if the inconsistency threw me off or if the book simply was not as good as the first two, but I was just not that into it. I agree with other readers that the reconnecting lovers thing has grown stale by this point in the series. I loved The Winter Lodge and really enjoyed the first book as well, but it feels like Wiggs told those stories so well that there just wasn't anything left to do with another story along the same lines. The fourth book seems to take a different turn so here's hoping it gets better.

"With her daughter grown and flown, Nina Romano is ready to embark on a new adventure. She's waited a long time for dating, travel and chasing dreams. But just as she's beginning to enjoy being on her own, she finds herself falling for Greg Bellamy, owner of the charming Inn at Willow Lake and a single father with two kids of his own.

Greg lost his first marriage to a demanding career. Now he's determined to make a new start before it's too late. Juggling work, raising his young son and helping his nearly grown daughter face life's ultimate challenge, he has no time to fall in love. Still, with Nina Romano, love feels just right this time around." (From Amazon)

A great contemporary romance about second chances and blended families. I like the way Wiggs write and sense of small town coziness.

Once again, I loved the setting, AND the story. But sometimes I have a problem with characters, and the 'main man' in this one drove me nuts. Towards the end I just didn't like him at all.

I like the themes in this series of missed connections, overcoming youthful decisions, and second chances. My biggest issue with this OTP is the lack of direct communication at times. Nina does not tell Greg about her dreams. I'm not a big fan of conflict through omission, and Nina going back and forth from strong to pathetic in her own mind was off-putting at times. I do like how the eventual relationship gets going, and the ending definitely leaves you wanting more -- for other characters. Looking forward to the next book now.

I enjoyed this story a lot. In ways, Dockside may have been my favorite of the Lakeshore Chronicles stories so far. I enjoyed the characters (Nina, Greg, Max and Daisy) a lot, and I loved the details that went along with the history of and restoration of the inn. I only scored it as three stars because there were a number of inconsistencies in details between this story and earlier ones. The details involved the same characters and storylines that carried over. Things like dates or who was where when something happened. I may not have noticed but I read two of the books close together. Also, there was one place that the timeline was incorrect strictly within this story. Things like that bug me and detract from the book.
