I was not a fan of this book. Other than the underlying plot of Dustin’s death, I felt no connection to the characters or their progression. I did not like the way this book discussed women or romanticized violence. Also, the way they discussed Kimmy Bart’s abortion was not it. Just because Dustin is dead does not mean she has to have that baby; it is her body and she can choose to do whatever she wants, she should not be physically assaulted because of this decision. This is definitely my least favorite book of the series and I will skip it if I ever read it again.

Why does this have such high ratings?!?!?! But the real question is, why did I still bother to read this????

DNF'd at page 210.

I just couldn't do it. I was so bored with the plot and the characters had no chemistry with each other. Definitely the least interest Sea Breaze novel

Last book to one of my favourite series! oh no!

I loved this book with all my heart and Abbi Glines did a wonderful job..
Our characters were perfect and every one of them had a different personalitty that I just loved! The only problem I had with with this book is that our lovely author should have done is that she could have made a scene were they all were together so we could get some closure.
I loved this book and it was amazing and I am going to miss all these fantastic characters!

5 stars from me <3

Wowww... I think this book has been my favorite so far. I just love books with little kids on it, they're awesome and cute and my motherly instincts come rushing to the surface, I think. Still my face characters are the Hardy's sibling, but Dewayne and Sienna come pretty close.

I was really looking forward to reading this but it was sooooo disappointing ! The whole plot drew me in, had a few of my never ending list of favourite troupes - the ex's brother, secret baby, returning to hometown..

First we meet Sienna, a strong single mother who does her best raising her son Micah. We learn of her past during flashbacks throughout the book, and to be honest that writing style worked really well, the flashback to certain memories would link to the current plot in the page so it all made sense. My issue is that she never dated in 6 years so she was not experienced and was protecting her and her sons little bubble , thats great!

We then meet Dewayne, he's been in love with her since he was 17 so i knew he'd be a bit protective over her. But again, he went out of the way to be possessive and in a way controlling. I enjoy troupes where we get alpha males "touch her and die" but he needed to sort his emotions and feelings out before going back and forth like a yoyo confusing her, so when she sets boundaries he doesn't like. The whole " i dont do relationships" line annoyed me- maybe, get your hands, lips and dick off her so she can control her feelings and know how to treat you - boyfriend or son's uncle?

Their chemistry was good though maybe that should have had more focus rather than adding extra dramas in to create tension

The way her mother made them both feel at home, and the effort she had made i really thought we would get to see her and Sienna reconnect but she was made out to be the bad guy, even after explaining why she thought it was a good idea to send her away. Dewayne is adamant that his parents never recieved letters, Sienna heard him out but she did not give the same chance to her mother. I know the trauma she had felt but a letter from her mother when she moved in she admitted her feelings and failures but that wasnt enough

I'm guessing the way the story is written, us readers are meant to feel that Dewayne and his family are the good people while Sienna's parents and family are evil. But Kimmy is an awful person but Dustin is a golden boy, an angel in everyone's eyes( bare in mind he drove drunk resulting in death, cheated numerous times, often bareback, didn't tell Sienna so she could get checked and also didn't tell Sienna that the condom broke but hes the most amazing basketball player and popular in school, all that mattered.

Also if I'm reading a romantic book where two people will have their HFN / HEA it's a huge turn off when one of them has any sexual activity on page with someone else, in this case there were a few, but them Dewayne got possessive while going on ONE date

******** SPOILERS NOW *********

- the FIRST time she allowed him to have Micah alone while she worked the morning shift, he took it upon himself to introduce his nephew to his parents, without asking Sienna. That should have been on her terms ONLY considering he has only just met Micah and his answer " they're his grandparents" is not it. Again, he had no right, even as an uncle, he was only uncle by blood at this point. Way to prove yourself capable. She forgave him way too soon considering at this time she believed they had known about Micah's existence and chose not to be involved

- finding out that Dewayne went behind her back and met the date was so weird!! I know he loves her and everything but again, had no right. This is why I'm mad at Sienna for allowing this and not setting boundaries in place

- We are introduced to him while he parked at his parents house and noticed a "beat up car" and already implying shes basically a crackhead and will cause issues in the street. Then has the audacity to notice a child and gets all judgemental how its not a family car, the audacity to have all them thoughts for someone he hadn't even met yet or knew of their past / struggles. Because he's clearly too perfect to be able to judge everything and everyone

- Notices her car isn't there one day and assumes shes gone to work or a date and left her son, his nephew at home alone . Constantly saying "my nephew" like he didn't even know he existed for 6 years!

- Kimmy, she had an abortion but that was the right choice for HER, Dewayne can think about how the child would have looked but i don't think she should be shamed. She was young and it made out that she done it out of spite as she could no longer trap Dustin. Sienna chose to keep her baby but not everyone wants that, especially at a young age and with the dad no longer alive .

When i say this book had triggered me, it TRIGGERED me. I don't understand the high rating. I was so close to putting it on my DNF list. Giving 2 ⭐ one for their chemistry and one for Micah

Wonderful

One of my favorites yet, they are beautiful together. Warms my heart, and makes you forget the world around you, you never want to put it down

Lost half a star for being very problematic at times but I still love it. Abbi Glines started my obsession with the weirdly niche "secret baby" trope and I haven't looked back since.

OMG!! Abbi has outdone herself this time - this is by far my favourite Sea Breeze book! And Dewayne is now my definite fave Abbi hero - he is just gorgeous!
This was a fantastic addition to this series, I have loved Dewayne from the beginning - he was always in the background being a sarcastic voice of reason....he is fab!! The history that we say in the flashback chapters was amazing - it was great hearing about most of the gang from back in high school...such great moments!
