This was a quick and fairly light read, given the murder mystery subject matter. It’s a romance book and there is a little spice in it. While this book was a pretty good read, it just wasn’t my cup of tea.

I would describe this book as Cozy historical romance mystery...? And even though cozy mysteries aren't my go to genre I did love this one! This book was a joy to read from start to finish.

If your looking for a quick read with a couple of twists and of course a happy ending, then I highly recommend!

A really nice mix of romance and murder mystery! The love between the two protagonists felt a bit rushed and we only really get one romance scene — I think it needed a little more time to grow — but their chemistry was excellent and the whole setting & story was a treat. I listened to the audiobook of this and the narrator was 10/10!
