Read as single issues.
I absolutely loved this mini series and I felt that it captured the third Doctor era very well. It had the master and UNIT with the brigadier from that era but this comic series also had Salamander who was a villain from the 2nd Doctor era. Because I haven't seen much of the 2nd Doctor era, I didn't know who he was at first but when I've watched more of the 2nd Doctor era with Salamander, I'll re-read this comic.
I would definitely recommend this to anyone who is a massive fan of the classic era and who loved the third Doctor.
The only thing that made me feel disappointed about this comic was that it kept getting delayed. I didn't get all the issues of this until January/February time this year, which quite frankly is a disgrace considering the fact that this started being released in September 2016.

Really enjoyed this! It absolutely utilises all the best elements of the Pertwee era, chock full of references, great characterisation and original concepts.
Particularly found it cool to see the way they threaded in Yates’ Invasion of the Dinosaurs mentality! The surprise villain return was fab. Also sarcastic Brig <3

I've never seen any of the third Doctor's episodes (yet) so I guess this was my first third Doctor story?
Anyway, it's fun. It takes place after the Doctor's exile ended and he's allowed to leave planet earth again. The earth gets attacked by an 'alien invasion' and The Doctor works together with Unit and even with The Master to stop this invasion.

This was kind of fun. I felt a little "out of the loop," since I am not familiar with the earlier Doctors, but the story was meaty enough for me to enjoy even without all the backstory that a more avid/long-time viewer might bring to their reading.

This is a Third Doctor story, firmly set in UNIT between The Three Doctors and The Green Death, with beautiful attention to character and detail both in writing and art. The setting is a small English village, with the Master as part of the apparatus of an alien invasion; but then there's the really unexpected reappearance of a face from the past of Doctor Who, which really cranks up the storytelling a gear. (There's also time-slippage to Westminster in 1868.) The character of Jo is quite substantially redeemed here, and we're given more substantial grounds for Mike Yates' imminent change of allegiance than we got on screen. It's the Third Doctor era as informed not only by the show as broadcast but by the sympathetic (and sometimes superior) novelisations of the late great Terrance Dicks. Loved it.

I just finished hanging out with my fellow Whovian Androgums this weekend where we consumed many of the Doctor's adventures (in various regenerations) including: Enemy of the World. (That tidbit of information will connect to my review shortly. Promise).

In starting this graphic novel, I was expecting to see the 3rd Doctor in all his glory, UNIT, Brigadier, Jo, Mike, Benton (and yes, even Delgado's Master), and I was not disappointed! I easily slipped into their world as if I was watching their era of Doctor Who on the television. What I was not expecting but loved just the same was the nods to The Three Doctors and to Osgood from The Daemons (and also a relative of the contemporary Petronella Osgood). The moment Osgood took out his inhaler...ahhh...memories!

And then Paul Cornell and Christopher Jones went above and beyond and brought back Salamander!!! I was in Whovian heaven completely nerding out with glee! Cornell and Jones brought the classic 70s era to life, and I loved every minute of it! I know I'm gushing, but it cannot be helped!
