Cleo seriously can do no wrong with the age gap trope I swear! I eat up her books every time and this holiday novella was no different!

I loved how we started off already a year into Sophie (FMC) working for Bram (MMC) and firmly in “mutual pinning but doesn’t know the other is” territory. It made getting to the *big bang* quicker without feeling like we lost out on the buildup chemistry, which I always appreciate with novella length romances.

Sophie is smart, quick-witted, funny, and a bit self-deprecating. She’s also madly in love with her boss who happens to also be her best friend/roommate’s dad. I really liked her humor but more so loved how Bram saw she often used it as a defense mechanism and then was able to show her she doesn’t need to do that around him.

As for Bram — aka Mr. Sexy and in control and can do whatever he wants with me. I loved that he is this super successful and confident man but is so easily disarmed by his 22yo employee. The way he so easily would give her whatever she wanted if it meant he was the reason she smiled was so fucking adorable. His possessiveness was also hot af right along with his sexual desires.

Overall, these two had fire chemistry and I loved the little intros to their kinky preferences we got. I easily could have read another 100 pages of these two and would have loved every second of getting more into their relationship!

Tropes
  • age gap (22//44)
  • bestie’s dad
  • snowed-in
  • fmc in stem
  • rich mmc spoils his girl
  • boss x employees
  • mutual pining
  • kink exploration
  • free use kink
  • possessive mmc
  • he takes care of her
  • some religious trauma

Thank you a million to Cleo White for accepting me onto her ARC team!! Cannot wait for the next two novellas in the “Daddy Issues” series!

For her he was her best friend’s dad and boss. For him, she is her daughter’s best friend and half her age. They both were sure that they don’t like each other , decided it would be best be silent. Until one snowy christmas week they were both locked in his fancy house together due to to a storm and road cross. During which they learn that they are not as disinterested in each other as they thought they were. The tension , spice and coming out was so good.
adventurous lighthearted fast-paced

It was a good spicy novella. I think its really hard for me to connect to the trope if the book is less than 270 pages. This one is like 170, and the two characters are in love after getting together. Seems kind of unrealistic? Idk it was good then I was over it

ARC Review of Chilled and Thrilled by Cleo White

If you’re in the mood for a holiday read that brings the heat and a touch of feels, Chilled and Thrilled is the novella to cozy up with! Releasing November 19th, this spicy age-gap romance is all about breaking those 'Girl Code' rules we pretend to live by, with our heroine stuck in the snow, alone with her best friend’s hot dad. But while the steamy tension is front and center (and believe me, it delivers!), there’s also a surprisingly sweet layer to this story. The author dives into friendship dynamics, explores family differences, and shows that holiday magic can come in all forms. It’s a Christmas adventure I won’t forget anytime soon, and I’d happily get snowed in again with these characters!
