Loved this book! An easy read that keeps you hooked and wanting more. Can’t wait to read the rest of this series
3.5
I feel like maybe I expected too much from this book. I've heard so much good things and I really wanted it to be as amazing as people said. It was good, but not amazing.
I just feel that the story is kind of underdeveloped. I wanted more!! I wanted more spy-stuff, I wanted more character development, I even wouldn't have minded Cammie and Josh being all cute together.
The plot is nearly nonexistent it's so basic. I expected a more active plot and kept waiting for the big exciting climax... which never came.
While Cammie and the girls all had wonderful back-stories, I feel like, again... a lot of it was underutilized for the plot. They're supposed to be the elite, geniuses girl spies, but they felt kind of... juvenile... and felt much younger than I expected them to be. There were a lot of great one-liners and funny jokes that made me giggle, but that's about it.
The school also felt like it's been picked from your average cardboard elite academy stock, with a cutesy little town in the background. It was very light on actual description of spy activities and gadgets.
Overall, it's a cute little story, but nothing amazing or impressive.

This is my 2nd book in the series. I really like the series so far. I'm will continue the series.
I love this book SO FREAKING MUCH AHHHHH.
I first read this series when I was 11, and I remember afterwards I immediately ordered the rest of the series and waited by the door every morning to see if they had arrived.
HOWEVER DO NOT BE FOOLED!!! This book is as much entertaining for teens/adults as it was for 11 year old me :) This book is so dear to my heart, and reading it brought back so much nostalgia with its wholesome and fun writing, while still having those deep and tender moments that make a well rounded and full book. The plot and characters have a way of just sucking you in and making you forget your surroundings.
Cammie is such a lovely and relatable character

I did not love this book from the beginning--I just couldn't get into (due to lack of sleep)--but once it clicked it clicked. It the story of typical teenage love (not a bad thing), but the girl is training to be a spy. Comes from a family of spies and goes to an all girl spy school. The teenage love antics are the same, innocent stalking etc, but she can tap computers and have a surveillance team.
I’m leaving my review for the whole series on this book so anyone who’s wondering if they should get into it will see this.
Should you? Absolutely.
This series was one of my absolute favorites in middle and high school. The characters were so engaging and relatable and the plot was delicious and fun. The writing never makes you feel dumb for not being an actual teenage spy (lol) but instead makes you feel like you’re in on the mission.
I just reread them now to enjoy the nostalgia and see how well they would hold up for me over a decade later - and they’re still just as amazing as when I was younger. Almost everything in them aged incredibly well, and it’s much easier to appreciate all of the masterful foreshadowing Ally wrote into them with age and experience.
I’d recommend this book highly to anyone that enjoys YA, but especially to anyone who underwent the horrors of being a teenage girl. This series would be especially good for any teens and parents that are looking for books to read together!

This was a fun, different kind of way to tell a young adult girls boarding school story. I enjoyed the concept a lot, even when the story was unrealistic.
Amazing, very well written. It mostly for younger girls I feel like. But Cammie's adventure is very fun to be introduced to.
I needed something cheesy and heartwarming after my last read and this book was perfect for that! Girls spy school gave me st trinians vibes only with more order and professionalism. Typical boy problems with the added solutions of small bombs, going through his rubbish and basically stalking him. Cute and funny, though it didn’t keep up the constant writing as a field review all the time and slipped back to just telling a story, would have been better sticking to one or the other imo. Will definitely be reading the rest of the series, although I’ll be waiting until I need another pick me up read first
