This was the series that got me into reading when I was younger. It is a series that I devoured then and recently re-read and devoured again. These books will always have a really special place in my heart. Absolutely loved all of them.

The way I loved this book when I was a kid. I’ve genuinely thought about this book once a week since I was 10.

I’ve had this book on my bookshelf for awhile now, but you know how it is books get moved around and you lose place of them. But recently I rediscovered this book. The book was a little more middle school than young adult than I was expecting; however, I was still drawn in to the story that Ally Carter told.

Cammie is a student at Gallagher Academy, a school that claims to be for geniuses, but instead is for spies. Cammie’s mother is also headmaster of this school which makes her life harder than it already is. Her father died mysteriously and although the family has moved on her relationship is still strained with her mother. But at the same time she is a teenage girl, she isn’t going to tell her mother everything no matter how close their relationship is. This isn’t the Gilmore Girls relationship.

The Gallagher Academy is in a small town and is known as “the school.” One day on assignment Cammie meets a boy. Something that is almost unknown at Gallagher Academy not counting the professors who the girls have known for years. However, not wanting to tell the boy about “the school.” She tells him that she is homeschooled and spins a whole web of lies to him to try to make him like her, even though it wouldn’t be liking her for her. It would be liking her for a fake version of her. Cammie is so excited about liking a guy and having him like her she just continues to push through with this plan.

There is more to this book however than just boys and parents, at the heart of the book there is Cammie and how she grows and changes and her friendships around her evolve with that fact.

I wish this had been out and that I'd read it when I was 15. I would have totally turned my bedroom into the Gallagher Academy and wandered around my house telling my family not to interrupt my secret missions. (Side Note: I did something like this with Egypt Game, but I digress.) This was a joy to read. Cute and sweet and fun as anything. The little asides about this gadget or that mission throughout really cement the secret spy world. I will definitely be reading the rest of these as quickly as possible.

Great book, and I NEED the next one now!

(Lost a star because of weird content, which wasn't in the Embassy Row series and didn't need to be in this one...

Unterhaltend, amüsant und zuckersüß! Dieses Buch macht einfach nur Spaß :)

Cute story about a girl, Cammie, who is going to spy school. Literally. The affluent prep school is actually a cover for the girls who are spies-in-training. Cammie embarks on her most dangerous mission ever...dating/falling in love with a boy! None of her training has prepared her for this. Lighthearted and fluffy, not a lot of excitement. For some thrilling spy tales try H.I.V.E.: The Higher Institute of Villainous Education by Mark Walden.

Everyone thinks the Gallagher Girls Academy for Exceptional Girls is a boarding school for snooty rich girls. They are wrong. Gallagher Girls have a long and distinguished history, one that requires very high security clearance. Gallagher Academy is a boarding school for girls, but the classes they teach are much different; here they learn espionage and spy craft. The Gallagher Girls are training in weapons, covert ops, and languages; all in the hopes of preparing them for lives as spies. Cammmie Morgan is a Gallagher Girl legacy, her mom is the head of the school. Cammie is known as the Chameleon because she can blend in anywhere. So what happens when a boy notices her on a mission. Can Cammie and her friends deal with dating? Not the same way a normal girl would!

I think Ally Carter is a wonderful writer. Her books are extremely entertaining and funny. I loved the thought of these teen girls using a crush to practice their skills. They use everything from surveillance to hacking to going through garbage and more. This book is light-hearted, entertaining and laugh-out-loud funny at times. I would definitely recommend it and plan on reading more of the series.

14 year old me would have loved these books so much. OH MY GOD THEY ARE SPIES AT A SPY SCHOOL! They have covert ops! They spy on the guy she likes! (I would have used all those exclamation points too.). Definitely recommend for the younger crowd. For the 24 year old me? It was brainless fun, and I enjoyed it, but I won't be continuing the series.

Cammie goes to the ultra secret espionage boarding school, also known as the "Gallagher Academy for Exceptional Young Women." As a sophomore she gets her first crush on a townie. She is a genius, but can she decipher boy talk?

This book is pure fun and had me laughing out loud.
