(Spoiler ahead) If you throw time travel into anything, I'm automatically going to like it. So this final book in this YA trilogy sucked me in. I had to read it because I had read the first two, and I had to know what happened even though the cliffhanger from the previous one infuriated me. (That's not how you end a book! A comic book, sure. Not a novel, thank you.) It's hard to rate a YA book with all its angst and silliness. This was a fun romp. And the world created in this sci-fi felt very real while also being unique and imaginative. If you're up for a YA sci-fi, then this trilogy is for you. But I suppose that is a fairly specific genre!

Time travel is one trope I hate in sci-fi and that's a trope that was sadly, the main one in this book.  I like the payoff at the end but I find it really hard to get into it and to fully enjoy it. I found that this book had a lot of unnecessary descriptions. I liked the end but I felt like it could've been better. I feel like the 'you have to defeat everything by love' was a bad conclusion to the story especially the way it was written. It felt very lame and formulaic.
I really love the relationships in these books. However, I feel like I preferred Tyler and Saedii's relationship in the previous book. There is really good found family in this series which I loved.
I feel like I will appreciate the plot more when I re-read it because it can be hard to grasp everything at once. I also liked how the authors showed the descriptions of people and things in this book, one of them being how Tyler was different in the future by him drinking and cursing as that was something he had never done in the present time.
"The Tyler Jones I knew never cursed. But this was not the Tyler Jones I knew."

I recommend this series.
