The stories are boring for King and I realized I only have so much time on earth and if I was 3 hours into this audiobook and didn't like it then I needed to listen to something I really want to read.

I really liked this collection and the way it flowed. The afterword wrapped it up nicely. Must read Cujo before reading Rattlesnakes!

This is a hard book to know how to rate or how I feel about it.
First off I read half last year and half this year because I wanted to read it at our family mountain cabin. Hurricane Helene put a pause on that for almost a year.
However even if it didn't, I just wasn't that hype to read this. Maybe it's because it was short stories? I love Stephen King though usually, he's an all time favorite.
Danny Coughlin's Bad Dream is probably my favorite thing I've ever read by Stephen King. That should have been a novel. It was too notch & made the book. It makes me feel bad for rating it so low.
Some of the others were solid short stories too. But then some were just flat out terrible and should have stayed in the drafts.
So I decided to rate each story and average them together for my rating. Here they are:
Two Talented Bastids 4.5/5.0
The Fifth Step 3.5/5.0
Willie the Weirdo 3.0/5.0
Danny Coughlin's Bad Dream 5.0/5.0
Finn 3.5/5.0
On Slide Inn Road 4.0/5.0
Red Screen 4.0/5.0
The Turbulence Expert 4.0/5.0
Laurie 4.0/5.0
Rattlesnakes 4.0/5.0
The Dreamers 3.0/5.0
The Answer Man 4.0/5.0
