Every time I read this book life feels sooo simple and peaceful. Like all the problems we have are just human toys in the background

considering the age of this book, I cannot fault it for prioritising readers who might have been rulers or leaders of some kind. It is incredibly beautiful and offers fabulous insight into how society might become one with the universe
Expressing profoundly dense ideas in few words is a mark of genius, yet such conciseness can make the text difficult to learn directly from. I understand that the book can’t simply hand out answers, and that’s part of its message. Each person’s path is deeply personal. Because of this, I think it’s best read alongside other works, allowing for deeper reflection.
One of the most striking aspects is the contrast between Eastern and Western thought. Chapter 15’s discussion on not seeking fulfillment stood out to me, Western philosophy rarely approaches the idea in the same way, or at least frames it differently. What I took from it is that fulfillment shouldn’t be tied to external pursuits, but rather found within, through the unity of mind, body, and soul.
This isn’t a book to absorb in one read. I’ll be returning to it many times, each revisit likely revealing new layers of understanding.
