OMG such a good book!!!!!!!!!
This book was just the perfect start for the new phase of the Shadow Hunter world, reading how the new generation is little by little building they're way up was amazing.
Even though this book wasn't fill with the dose of action we're used to from previous Cassie's books, the battle scenes with memorable. I really appreciate the fact that Cassandra made the Clockwork Angel's move and focus more on giving a proper introduction for the characters and the place they were at after the events of City of Heavenly Fire. The Character development was on point and I'm eternally in love with the Blackthorn children.
I'm not gonna lie, I really REALLY missed the original squad so badddddd, but the characters are so fascinating that you didn't feel the void at all.
Definitely a most read ASAP!
Can't wait to see what Lord of Shadows got for me. (Since the end of this book murdered my soul.... WHY CASSIE WHYYYYYY?!)

Once again, I really enjoyed this book. As per usual, I think that the first books in Cassandra Clare's series are the weakest, but the character work is amazing. I already love the Blackthorns and Emma. I cannot wait to see where we go from here.
I cannot say much about this book, because it spoils all the 115160 other Shadowhunter novels before it. Just know that these books are a lot of fun.

The thing at the end? I will recover.
The thing about Mark? Hahahahaha NO. NOT EVER.

So I went to the gym yesterday wanting to be athletic and fit just like Emma, Cristina and Julian. I worked out and now I could barely stand. My legs hurt, my arms hurt, my stomach hurts. Everything hurts. It's probably the biggest mistake of my life.

I'm one of the very few people who read all of Cassandra Clare's books starting from TID, TMI, Shadowhunter Tales, Codex, Illustrations (name it, I have it!) I honestly thought that she was one of the best authors there is until I read books better than hers and I now realized that her writing style wasn't that good after all. It was tedious at times, the characters are too much of this and too much of that but that didn't prevent me from reading her newly published books.

I waited for almost eight months before reading this novel mainly because I was afraid of being stranded with a huge book that I couldn't finish. But hell boy! A lot of good things happened in this book;

1. Cassandra Clare's writing style improved immensely.
2. The characters were so lovable! Not too good nor too bad. Not too perfect nor too flawed.
3. Stories from the Tales of Shadowhunters were vaguely mentioned but they were there, if you know where to search.
4. The characters strived for the skills that they have. (unlike some *ehem* Jace *ehem* Clary who were born with it)
5. The plotwists were so gooooood! Especially that thing about Mark. Hahaha I'll never get over with that I swear.

Everyone's making a fuzz about Emma and Julian but I seriously love Cristina more. Her calm, her grace, her strength. I love everything about her! I love her more than Emma (peace) So it wasn't a shocker that I was more upset to the fact that my ship MARTINA just sunk into oblivion (I hope that it's salvageable though) than to the LQ that happened at the end of this book.

The ending hurts a bit but I'll live.
#MARTINA all the way!!!

PS: I will never ever go to the gym again. The ideas this book puts into my mind. Urggh!

I'll be honest it's a bit of a struggle to get through this series as times. There were new characters introduced in this book. I liked some of them, and others I'm indifferent towards. The plot was predictable and I found the writing style to be a little annoying at times.

Probably my favourite Cassandra Clare book beside the short story collections. I absolutely loved the story and didn’t see the ending coming until it was revealed. The characters were well developed and I loved the family dynamics as well.

I love the characters, especially Ty, Christina and Julian. I am really looking forward to know more about Kieran, too. The relationships in the book are great.

Now spoilers:

Why don't they say the reason parabatai can't fall in love in the Clave?? Kinda stupid. Also Emma not talking to Julian about it, uggggghhhh. And Emma using Mark to make Julian hate ehr or sth?? I hope that doesn't stay too long in the next book or I'm gonna give a low rating.
