 Things I liked:
  1. I was positively terrified. It really seemed like all that happened in the book could really happen irl.
  2.
I expected a somewhat happy ending and it was actually quite refreshing to not get one

Things I didn’t like:
  1. Frankly, Mae was quite an irritating main character. I had some hope because of all her little rebellions but ultimately she became so incredibly annoying and her pov by the end was just infuriating
  2.
The ‘plot twist’ about Kalden didn’t really make sense to me. There didn’t seem to be that much build up to it and I’m not sure if a reader could actually have guessed it? (which in my opinion makes it a bad twist)

  3.
There were a lot of heavy topics which were dealt with too lightly (racism, non consensual porn videos and suicide, to mention only a few) and which were frankly quite awful experiences to read about

Overall I enjoyed the book …kind of. I certainly didn’t want to put it down, especially by the end. But also I found myself getting quite anxious at certain parts and having to put it down. Would recommend checking content warnings before reading.
