I am not free while any other woman is unfree, even when her shackles are very different from my own. And I am not free as long as one person of Color remains chained. Nor is any one of you.

i want to thank audre lorde for writing these essays, so that i could read them decades later. i marked hundreds of passages and quotes, pondered over what was being said. audre's stories truly touched me, made me think and cry. the way audre works with words evoked so many emotions in me and most importantly it gave me so much insight into my own wrongdoings and areas where i can improve myself and be of better help for everyone, i am genuinely thankful for that.

Now we must recognize differences among women who are our equals, neither inferior nor superior, and devise ways to use each others' difference to enrich our visions and our joint struggles.
