Beautiful and profound.
I don't think a book has ever made me feel so many emotions - kinship, sorrow, anger, and hope. I had questions answered, and found new ones to ask.

Well, it's weird to rate it, as it certainly made me feel unfomrfotable at times. And bored and disengaged. But was it me not wanting to listen or the tone of the book? Cannot tell. It's a valueable piece of art, just not awfully entertaining or captivating, but should it be?

What an amazing read, I’m glad to finally have read an Audre Lorde! Even if each essay didn’t fully resonate with me, the writing still drew me in in a way I haven’t experienced before. It was like being there or chatting with a friend. Reading this 30+ years after it was originally published, how relevant the topics are is uncanny. A classic, essential feminist text.
