An average collection. I had to skip three of the stories since they were part of series I've never read and have no interest in. My favorite story was Bless Your Heart. The Night Nurse and Widow's Walk were also two that stood out.

Having an anthology be a mix of mild fantasy and horror is certainly a choice, and not one I enjoyed. In the end I only really liked three of the stories: The Deer Wife by Jennifer McMahon, Bless Your Heart by Hillary Monaham, and How to Become a Witch-Queen by Theodora Goss (no surprise there, her inclusion is why I picked up this book). There's two authors whose stories I hated so much I have taken note of their books and will never read them.

A very readable collection of short stories about witches and magic. Covering various themes and tropes, some were stronger than others but on the whole, a solid collection
