The male love interest messed up the main character's plans so many times and then didn't apologize or even seem to realize he'd done so! Annoying.

Heartbreaker is probably my favorite romance of the Hell's Belles series so far; I'm pretty sure Duchess's yet to be published book won't be as exciting as Addie's and Imogen's books. The Duke of Clayborn and Adelaide are great fun, and their romance is more playful and based in respect than the others. The Duke had been observing and getting to know Addie which got him to like her. Also, the opening scene with their meeting is just fantastic and fun.

Since I read all three back to back, the sex scenes started to get a little samey. This book probably had the best scenes, in that they best maintained the characters. Also, the running gag about inns was great. I love a running gag and a sweet romance. I also liked that there was a little more urgency and not so much stalling banter as Sesily's book.

The resolution was convenient, but I guess it made sense. I really enjoyed the different plots either way.

⭐⭐⭐.5 It was good and would recommend to most.

Adelaide Frampton, raised among London's criminals, leads a double life in Mayfair as the unassuming Matchbreaker, helping brides escape marriage. Henry, Duke of Clayborn, harbors secrets of his own, uninterested in Adelaide's exploits until they embark on a journey to halt a wedding. Despite their differences, Clayborn is drawn to Adelaide, even as she unravels his carefully guarded truths. As danger and desire intertwine, Adelaide threatens to steal Clayborn's heart, jeopardizing his carefully laid plans.

Definitely not super memorable but I did really enjoy it. Lots of funny moments and the concept is great but I feel like it needed to be shorter to pack the punch it should good. I dont know if my patience is short these days or people are writing longer books but yeah I just wanted it shorter. I really loved Adelaide and Henry's story and my heart broke for their back stories but I really had so much fun.

Tropes: anti-heroine, class difference, opposites attract, road trip, forced proximity
Triggers: Kidnapping, violence, robbery, death of parents, parental neglect
