Not sure I get it? But incredible writing, very readable. Extremely stressful at times.

Like the storm that comes for the boys, this book engulfs you right from the first words. There's no looking back.
Lean:
You feel their sense of urgency, the danger, the need to find each other and to find safety. You become the characters and all that is running through your head is the white noise of the wind. You become as confused as Doc, words swirling together on the page to create a picture.
Fall:
As a reader, you experience Anna's out of body fog as though it is your own. You wonder how to piece it all together, how it all happened. I was rooting for Robert (Doc) while also feel compassion towards Anna for having to take on the role of carer.
Stand:
You see them all learning how to live their new normal and how that looks. It's interesting to see how different recovery is for each person who has aphasia. It was cool to see how different techniques could be used to help people communicate.
It was so sad to read of how such a capable man had become rendered so weak. And yet there was also a new kind of strength in his determination to still tell his story. The author did a beautiful job of it. I think my favourite part was Lean, but I enjoyed the book overall.

I thought this book was going to be a supernatural horror but it was in fact a story about relationships and aphasia and language and communication
