I loved every part of this book. It’s part planetary scientist memoir, part history of Mars exploration and discoveries. The author has a geology and biology background, and it was really cool to hear the tale of Mars exploration from a geology perspective. I’d highly recommend this for anyone who likes space exploration stories, geology or earth science, and also women in STEM fields.

A fun read and good overview of Mars exploration. Possibly made more enjoyable by knowing the author and having been a participant in some of the scenes in the book!

Excellent overview of what we know about Mars and how we've learned about it over the centuries. I listened to the audiobook, and appreciated the wonder and excitement the author shares, along with her own journey. Most surprising to me are the number of women that have contributed to our understanding of Mars, and the namesakes of many of the features of Mars.
