this is a harrowing and detailed account of a young girl's ruin from racism and abuse, banned in america for being important and insightful. i'd recommend it to anyone who is ok with the content warnings.

Such a sad story written so beautifully. 
I’ve never read a book with such poetic sentences. 

This book did feel a little disjointed at times but I think on a re-read would make much more sense.
